Friday Night Quilters

Last night I enjoyed a very nice evening filled with
good friends, good food, and really good quilts!

Here are some pictures of my talented friends
and some of the projects they have been working on.

Joanne with a couple of Alzheimers quilts that
are ready to be sent in to be auctioned
to raise money for Alzheimer's.

Mary's quilt
This is the quilt that we made for
Linda after her bed-bug experience at quilt camp.
It is hanging on her wall.

Katrina's out of this world quilt.
It has another name, but I can't seem to remember what it is!
Cheryl recently returned from a trip to Bali!
While there she made this batik panel.
She drew the design on paper, then drew it with wax before
she applied the paint colors to this piece.

She also made the jewerly she is wearing while in Bali.
Sharon has been busy finishing Quilts!

Sharon again.
I think Mary might have gotten the prize for the most finished tops.

Mary was given a patchwork dog like this when her twin girls were born, so she decided to duplicate it!
More from Mary.

I didn't have anything to show last night so I have decided to spend the afternoon doing some sewing!!!!

til next time,
Happy Quilting!

Inspiration

Where do you get your inspiration?
I'm fortunate to belong to a really fun group of ladies
who meet once a month.
This past Friday we meet up at Judy's house
and enjoyed a very pleasant evening on her porch
visiting, eating, laughing and sharing our current projects.
Mary brought this quilt top to show us.
It's a beauty.

Dolly has revisited basket making.
She always made pretty baskets before,
but these baskets were SHINY!

She made them using Mylar balloons!
Pretty awesome!
Judy has taken up knitting socks.

It's always fun to get together with my
quilting friends.
Inspiring, educational and fun!

FNQ night

On Friday I attended the monthly meeting of the Friday Night Quilters. We are a group of 12 women who have met for quite a few years now. Last year 4 of our members embarked on a new endevor......we started a Round Robin as shown in one of the issues of "Quilters Home" magazine.

We all started with making a center square and filling a bag with fabrics that we wanted to be used in our quilt. The square was then passed on to one of the group who added a border around the beginning square. This continued for 4 rounds.

Here are the finished quilt tops. Each quilter has the option
of adding one more additional border to her quilt.

This is Linda's quilt:

This cat themed top belongs to Sharon:

This nautical themed quilt is Kerry's:

And this one is mine:

This was really a fun project designed to stretch our creativity and also
give us a challange.
