Betsy is my new friend!

This is Betsy on the first day that we brought her home. She is so happy to be
cuddled up on Jenny.

One of Betsy's favorite pastimes is to curl up somewhere in whatever room I am in.
This happens to be beside the computer. I believe it only took about 10 minutes for her to stop trying to help me type or chase the moving parts on the computer screen before she settled down in my basket of papers.
A close-up view of Betsy in the basket.

When I first brought Betsy home I thought it would be a good idea to keep her in the kitchen until I could determine if she was going to use the litter box. You know, tile floor is much easier to clean than carpet! So I put up this baby gate to "fence" her in. As you can tell by the photo this baby gate was just like a bump in the road for her. She had a blast playing on this "toy".

She's a little cutie at 2 months old!

One of my first purchases for Betsy was this scratching post. Initially she enjoyed scratching on the walls so I figured that I'd better get something for her to scratch on right away before she started on the new leather couch! She also enjoys the boingy ball on top!

PotHolder Weather

Now I know you've heard of coat weather, and boot weather and bathing suit weather, but I"ll bet you've never heard of potholder weather! Potholder weather is when it is soooooooooooo HOT you need to use potholders to grasp the steering wheel and gear shift in your car! I make these little potholders called micro-mitts and they are just perfect for this job! Almost everyone I know has at least one pair of these little gems. They are great for all types of cooking. Even in the car! Unfortunately I don't have any out in my car..........guess I should remedy that since potholder weather is here to stay for at LEAST another 2 months!

My stash of micro-mitts is getting rather low!

I've been busy decluttering my house and garage! I am trying to go thru closets and rooms and get rid of things that can still be useful to someone else and organize the things that I can still use. It's a big job! Especially since alot of these things belong to my kids and they left them here when they moved out!

I've also been embroidering shirts for my daughters wedding day. I've embroidered shirts for the entire bridal party including the Bride & Groom, Bridesmaids & Groomsman, Best Man and Maid of Honor as well as Mother and Father of the Bride and Groom, Grandmother and Grandfather of the Bride and Groom. Phew! That's alot of shirts!

Here is a picture of some of them:

I am working on a really beautiful house quilt right now and I'm just about finished. I'll try to post a picture of that tomorrow. Here is a sneak peek at one of the blocks while the quilt is still on the quilting frames:

But right now I think it is POOL weather. Time to go and take a dip in the pool to cool off!
Until next time.............Happy Quilting!
