Friday Night Quilters Round Robin Quilt Show

Finally Finished!!
This is my Friday Night Quilters Round Robin Quilt!
Four ladies from this group participated in this project.
We all made a center square and passed it on to the next person in line.
We used the guidelines from "Quilter's Home" magazine.
The second "round" had to be 3" and contain triangles.
The third round had to be turned on point and appliqued.
The fourth round had to be 4 " and have rectangles.
and the last round had to have circles.

Here is Linda's quilt:

And here is Kerry's quilt:

And Here is Sharon's quilt:

Aren't they beautiful?
They will all hang together at the
Arizona Quilters Guild show
on March 11-13.

Design Wall Monday

Yes....if you tuned in last Monday you did see the exact same quilt.
I've been hemming and hawing all week about how to

finish this quilt and I have finally decided.
I am going to add

a 3" border in the purple fabric and then after it is quilted I

will scallop the edges.
Not sure how many scallops, but the corners

for sure will be rounded. I will figure out if the rest of the quilt

will be scalloped when I get to that part.

This quilt will be entered into our local quilt show along with

the other 3 ladies who participated in this Round Robin.

They already have thiers quilted and to the binding stage,
but they got the "finger" pointed at them months ago
and were told that their
QUILTS WOULD BE READY
FOR THE SHOW!
(or else!)

Since I missed the first "finger point"
and am running a little behind
I got "the finger point" on Friday night!
So I'm getting busy!

My very first embroidery design!

Quite a few months ago I purchased a software

package that would enable me to design embroideries

to use on my Designer 1 embroidery machine.

I have been wanting to design quilt labels, but first

I needed to learn the ins and outs of the software

and then figure out how to get this transfered to a floppy

disc so it could go into my embroidery machine to be

stitched out.

Well today I finally did it! and the picture above

is the very first one I stitched out!
I've still got alot to learn, but I am pretty happy
with what I accomplished today!

FNQ night

On Friday I attended the monthly meeting of the Friday Night Quilters. We are a group of 12 women who have met for quite a few years now. Last year 4 of our members embarked on a new endevor......we started a Round Robin as shown in one of the issues of "Quilters Home" magazine.

We all started with making a center square and filling a bag with fabrics that we wanted to be used in our quilt. The square was then passed on to one of the group who added a border around the beginning square. This continued for 4 rounds.

Here are the finished quilt tops. Each quilter has the option
of adding one more additional border to her quilt.

This is Linda's quilt:

This cat themed top belongs to Sharon:

This nautical themed quilt is Kerry's:

And this one is mine:

This was really a fun project designed to stretch our creativity and also
give us a challange.
